Getting uncomfortable
On April 1st, we boldly stepped into the realm of inclusivity with our workshop, “Getting Uncomfortable.” Focused on the vital skill of taking a sexual history, this session aimed to create a safe space for open dialogue and understanding.
Participants delved into techniques for inclusive questioning, cultural sensitivity, and communication strategies to ensure a respectful approach. The workshop challenged traditional norms, encouraging medical students as future physicians to broaden their perspectives and foster an environment where all individuals feel seen, heard, and understood.
By embracing discomfort, we sought to elevate the standard of care and communication in sexual health, breaking down barriers and promoting a more inclusive and affirming healthcare experience for all. Let’s continue to challenge ourselves and foster an inclusive approach in every aspect of our professional journey.
