Η μη κυβερνητική οργάνωση “Εθελοντές Γιατροί” προσφέρει την ευκαιρία σε ελληνόφωνους φοιτητές ιατρικής να συμμετέχουν και αυτοί στη διαδικασία screening του ηλικιωμένου κυπριακού πληθυσμού για άνοια, σε διάφορες κοινότητες της Κύπρου.
Απευθυνόμαστε σε φοιτητές με όρεξη να μάθουν την διαδικασία του screening, να εξοικιωθούν με την αλληλεπίδραση με ασθενείς, ιδιαίτερα ηλικιωμένους, και να συμβάλουν στην καταπολέμηση αλλά και στην κατανόηση της άνοιας στον κυπριακό πληθυσμό, μια ασθένεια δύσκολη, αλλά δυστυχώς όχι σπάνια.
Οι φοιτητές οι οποίοι ενδιαφέρονται, θα παρακολουθήσουν εκπαιδευτικό μάθημα στην διαδικασία διενέργειας του ερωτηματολογίου.
Μετά την εκπαίδευση, θα καλείται συγκεκριμένος αριθμός ατόμων σε κάθε αποστολή των Εθελοντών Γιατρών σε κοινότητες (κυρίως Σαββατοκυρίακα). Οι φοιτητές θα πρέπει να είναι πρόθυμοι να αφιερώνουν 4 ώρες για κάθε αποστολή.
*Δεν χρειάζεται κάποια ειδική ιατρική γνώση ή δεξιότητα πέρα από την ικανότητα λήψης ιστορικού και σωστή κλινική επικοικωνία

The NGO “Volunteer Doctors” offers the opportunity to greek-speaking medical students to participate in the screening process of the elderly Cypriot population with dementia, in various communities around Cyrpus.
We are addressing students who want to learn the screening process, become familiar with the patient interaction, especially with elderly patients, and contribute to the treatment and understanding of dementia in the Cypriot population, a difficult but unfortunately common disease.
Students who are interested will attend a training course on the process of conducting the questionnaire.
After the training, a specific number of people will be invited to each mission of the Volunteer Doctors to communities (mainly on weekends). Students should be willing to dedicate 4 hours for each mission.
*No special medical knowledge or skills are required beyond the ability to take a history and proper clinical communication
*Knowledge of the Greek language required
